The Walk took place on 31 January, at the start of the first cold period of the winter. The weather was dull and partly rainy. Eight people took part.  Although a healthy total of 29 species was identified, the numbers of birds were strikingly limited, with, for instance, only singles of some of the normally  flocking species.
