In October 2015 Thames Water signed a licence with Woodcote Parish Council to enable the Woodcote Conservation Group (WCG) to manage part of Thames Water land that abuts onto the Greenmoor Ponds site. This additional plot significantly increases the area available for conservation around the Greenmoor Ponds.
Since that date an Environmental Management Plan drawn up by Rod d’Ayala, a local ecologist, has been approved by Thames Water and Woodcote Parish Council and is now being implemented by the WCG with the support of Rod d’Ayala.
WCG working parties and pupils from Langtree School have now cleared part of the site of invasive willow trees to create an open area for wild plants and grasses to grow.
In addition a footpath is being created across the Thames Water site to link the Greenmoor ponds with Green lane.
Further work has been carried out to create wet land habitats in other part of the site.
