Woodcote in Autumn
Looking across Wroxhills Wood to the Berkshire Downs, 1 November 2010
Bottom Lane, 20 October 2010
‘Autumn – what Autumn?’. The Beech has already turned, while the Oak is still as green as ever. (Elvendon Lane, 1 November 2010)
Dean Farm Bottom, 1 November 2010, from South Stoke Road looking towards Oxford Road. Our local Wild Cherry trees – like the one in the foreground – stand out just as vividly in their red autumn foliage as they do with their displays of blossom in the spring. The Poplars beyond the bypass (in the background) have already lost most of their leaves
Lambourne’s Wood, 1 Nov 2010. The famous ‘carpet of leaves’ is particularly vivid here beneath the Beech trees by the path down from Wood Lane.
‘I don’t do Autumn’. Unlike its colourful deciduous neighbours, the Ash simply dumps its leaves on the ground while they are still green. (Footpath below Wood Lane, 1 November 2010.)
