Four members had a lovely walk around “The Holies”, which is National Trust land on the edge of the Berkshire Downs above Streatley, overlooking the Goring Gap. The area is mixed woodland and downland, and so provides a range of habitats for butterflies, and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The walk took place on 06 July 2025. The weather was partly sunny and the temperature was about 20°C, although a few summery rain showers also passed through. We large and small white, comma, gatekeeper, meadow brown, small heath, common blue, ringlet, chalkhill blue, marbled white and green-veined white.
