The walk took place on the morning of 8 February, a dull, damp, and chilly day in a series of such days. There were 6 participants, and the following 20 species were recorded. This was an unusually low total, notable absences being Pheasant, Fieldfare, and House Sparrow. On the other hand, the flock of about 50 Redwings over Dean Farm was a welcome sight, given the absence of other thrush species (such as Fieldfare, and Mistle and Song Thrush).
